Agglomeration Greenway along the Arve river
The completion of this section of the Carouge greenway, from the Carouge bridge to the De la Fontenette bridge, along the banks of the Arve, is an opportunity to provide a high-quality public space adapted to soft mobility, thus encouraging the movement of both pedestrians and cyclists, with a clear separation of traffic flows. Ongoing urbanization projects, the presence of the river and the diversity of natural environments it flows through provide an opportunity to create a new landscape framework in the dense city. The project aims to enhance the landscape qualities of the site, the visual openings, the topography and the riparian identity of the Arve banks, while contributing to the weaving of a wider system of parks and promenades. The works provide an opportunity to extend and redevelop the play area at parc Noie-tes-Puces.
These developments have consolidated the banks of the Arve, improved the biological value of the banks and enhanced the shrub layer, as well as adapting public lighting to the natural environment in order to reduce light pollution.
