Chantepoulet square

This square, long occupied by cars, has become a civic space once again, offering a calm meeting place in the heart of the passing district, not far from the Cornavin train station. Chestnut trees have been planted, the central space, treated as simply as possible, remains open to a variety of uses, and the renovated pavilion now houses a refreshment bar and road services.
This enhancement of the built and tree heritage is set within the protected perimeter of the Fazist belt. The central area is covered with a permeable ochre-colored pavement, in harmony with the surrounding buildings. Two tinted concrete stringcourses articulate the square’s levels, which are determined by the existing trees. Street furniture, refurbished lighting and two-wheel parking complete the design.
