Three streets in transition

The project concerns Rue du Port, Rue du Prince and Rue de la Tour-Maîtresse. The process initiated by the City of Geneva aims to reclaim road space through temporary developments and a participatory approach. Dialogue with local residents takes place throughout the project, enabling it to evolve and activate new uses as feedback is received. Situated in an emblematic context of tourist and commercial Geneva, the devices stand out for the quality of their design and their potential for subsequent reuse. A large, light-colored floor mat covers the old road markings, defining a common space open to new appropriations, whether free or in connection with the area’s catering offer. Like a communal living space, the street is transformed by large circular planters, movable armchairs and new, high-quality street lighting.
